Sneak-Peek Box Review

I received this product to review. All opinions are my own.

I have been gradually starting to take stock of the products I use on my body and hair. I don’t think I can use all organic products, but swapping out more natural ingredients is better for me and the environment. Having natural 4c hair (translation: super kinky and coarse) I have gone through my share of products that just didn’t work on my hair. When I discovered that Sneak-Peek Box was a subscription service with natural haircare and beauty products I wanted to give it a try. What separated them from other natural beauty subscription box programs was that all of the products were from small companies I had not heard of and everything is handmade. I liked the idea that I would be supporting the next big natural beauty developer in their early stages.

First impressions and Standouts

The communication from Sneak-Peek Box was great. The shipping was quick and the box came well packaged. My only complaint was that some of the products had oils that showed up on the labels. But the integrity of the actual box was fine and being that it is handmade I was not expecting high-end packaging. I liked that the box included a list of products the makers’ information and the retail price of the items.

The smell! All of the products smelled so good. If you don’t like strong scents this is not the box for you, but truthfully not many all-natural beauty products I’ve encountered are scent-free. You get a good amount of each product to get a real sense of if you like it or not. In the case of the bath bomb, it was larger than most the ones Lush sells.

Of all the products my favorite was the La Belle Femme pomegranate kiss body butter. It smells divine and just a small amount melts into my skin so quickly. I hate being ashy and like smelling good so this checked the boxes for me. Runner-up would be the Flower Child Remedies Cocoa and Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner. My 4c natural hair loved it. I used it for twist outs and Bantu knot style and my fro was soft with no residue. You can actually go to their website and customize your own leave in.

Final Verdict

I would definitely recommend this box. I understand there are a lot of beauty boxes out there, but the products here were unique. I like to discover new products and this box delivered. Bonus-it supports small businesses and the products are all natural. No need to worry about harsh chemicals. If I had a negative it would be that the packaging could be a little nicer, but it didn’t bother me especially since it shows how truly handmade the items are.
