Time Saving at Home Workouts

There are so many reasons why even though we are being asked to stay at home you might need or want a time saving at-home workout. Whether you are working from home, homeschooling children, an essential worker or a combination…just because we are staying at home doesn’t make time endless. I am always an advocate for a workout that is short and sweet and packs a punch, especially when you might lack motivation.

Here are two types of workouts that require no equipment and can be done in as little as 15 minutes. I have shared these with my personal training clients to do at home. They will help you build strength while keeping your heart rate up.

Circuit Workout

A circuit workout is a perfect option if you are limited in your time because you can reduce the number of rounds or you can limit the time for each circuit during a round. On the other hand, you can extend the time per circuit or increase the number of rounds if you have more time to work with. The workout below has four circuits and provides a full-body workout (upper body, core, lower body) with a combination of high and low impact movements.

AMPRAP

AMRAP or as many rounds as possible in a given timeframe means that for the allotted time, in this workout’s case 15 minutes, you give each movement all you have and try to get in as many rounds as you can possible. I would advise keeping a workout log to track how many rounds you were able to complete. The most important thing with whichever workout is to never sacrifice form. As your body fatigues, it is tempting to lose form, but that can lead to injury.

Feel free to change up each of these movements with bands, weights, or household items used as resistance. Comment below what is your favorite at-home workout is.
