Here are three ways to emotionally, mentally and physically prepare for this fall and any new season ahead.
Re-think meals
- Use ingredients that are ‘in season’ like squashes to make sure items you shop is fresh and support the environment.
- I picked up some fall-inspired meal staples I picked up at Trader Joes the other day. Think squashes, pumpkin spice and sweet potatoes.
- If cooking isn’t your thing…consider a meal prep service like Territory Foods. Save on your first two weeks with code GECH.
Revamp your skin and beauty items
- Check the expiration date on the makeup and skincare items you own. Throw out old products.
- Swap basics for safer beauty. While you are shopping for new creams or skincare staples consider the ingredients in the items and opt for cleaner beauty alternatives. EWG (Environmental Working Group) is a great resource when looking for safer beauty and skincare.
- I highly recommend brands like Beautycounter and Merlot Skincare. Stay tuned for a blog post all about safer beauty.
Restocking on multivitamins and essential oils. Check on your body.
- With the weather changing and flu season knocking on our door its important to keep our bodies ready and hydrated. I recently stocked up on multivitamins and added extra vitamin D to compensate for the lack of sun.
- My favorite essential oils are lavender and bergamot. The switch in aromatherapy is great to get your home and senses in the season.
- Consider a physical or medical check-up. Has your tooth been nagging you for weeks or your “bad back” been a constant issue? If you have the luxury of health insurance, use the season change as a reminder to check in on your physical health.
Great Tips!
I never think about multivitamins and essential oils when transitioning into Fall but I think I will stock up this weekend.

I definitely had some lipsticks and eyeshadow singles to get rid of. I’m a makeup junkie.
